TOURISM TRAINER – with French and IT

Job Summary:

1. Learning and Teaching Responsibilities:
   1. Training student in the School of Tourism in accordance with the syllabus stipulated by the Ministry of Education
   2. Participate in development, review and implementation of the curriculum to ensure alignment of course
   3. Prepare course delivery materials through review of existing information materials on the respective subject matter
   4. Preparing lessons for the theoretical content from teaching terms and schedules.
2. Examinations and Assessments
   1. Evaluate students’ understanding of concepts through setting, administrating, marking and moderating continuous assessment tests and examinations.
   2. Assessment of the progress of the students during their training, in consultation with the head of department, facilitators, trainers and instructors.
   3. Ensure CATs, examinations and other forms of assessments are administered within the stipulated times, all grading is done and results returned to students.
   4. Maintain records of students’ assessment results, progress, feedback, or school performance, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
3. Practical Experience
   1. Take students through practical lessons in the farm for better understanding of concepts learnt in class.
   2. Supervise students on industrial attachment to ensure they are able to relate class knowledge to industry practice in their respective area of specialization.
4. Course and Learner Progress
   1. Bi-Weekly and Quarterly reporting of the activities for sessions covered and learner development
   2. Develop teaching or training materials, such as handouts, study materials etc
   3. Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops, collaborative projects, or academic support sessions for small groups of students.
   4. Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or learn new tutoring techniques.
5. Students Welfare
   1. Ensuring that discipline is upheld among the students but in the case of referral or discontinuation of a student, the disciplinary committee is responsible.
   2. Maintaining frequent contact with learners or community to understand their interests, participation level, strengths and weaknesses, training/refresher needs
   3. Helping learners maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills
6. Other Duties                                                                                                            
1. Organizing and facilitating educational and social activities
2. Coordinate extracurricular activities
3. Participate in all WE organized events whenever called upon.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
